ADDvise gives us credibility when engaging with major clients and partners

Tillquist has been manufacturing weighing equipment since 1895 and is well-established in the industry. Its Statmos scales can be found in most supermarkets in Sweden. In recent years, Tillquist has also pivoted towards equipment for laboratories, research, and healthcare. 

The company joined ADDvise Group in 2012 and has been able to leverage the support and knowledge from ADDvise to drive efficiency and expand its business.  

125+ years of weighing experience 

Having been in the weighing industry for over 125 years, Tillquist has become known for its precision and reliability. A strong presence in Swedish supermarkets has been a key element in the company building a solid reputation in the market. As Andreas Wigmark, the company’s CEO, reflects: 

“You visit a grocery store every other day, and it’s our scales you see at the counters.”  

Tillquist has also expanded into sectors such as industrial, scientific research and healthcare where its scales are being used. In collaboration with world-leading brands such as Sartorius and OHAUS, the company now offers a comprehensive line of laboratory equipment, such as balances and scales, shakers and stirrers, pipettes, centrifuges, and water purification systems.  

Increased focus on service as a driver for growth 

To ensure the equipment works as intended and is properly calibrated, Tillquist has developed a state-of-the-art service organization. As Andreas explains:  

“Our service organization ensures that customers’ equipment functions properly, offering traceability and control throughout their operations.”  

The company’s service business accounts for almost half of its revenue, and Andreas sees this segment as a strong driver for further growth. “In the long term, I see service becoming an even bigger part of our revenue,” he explains, emphasizing the importance of recurring service contracts in increasing customer loyalty and driving long-term business relationships. 

Joining ADDvise Group to compete in a global market 

Tillquist joined ADDvise Group before CEO Andreas Wigmark took on this role. Whilst he wasn’t involved in the decision, he has seen the benefits of joining a larger corporation. Being part of the ADDvise Group has given Tillquist access to legal, financial, and market support. Andreas believes that this kind of high-level expertise would have been difficult, if not impossible, to sustain independently.  

“We’re a 10-person company, but being backed by a group as large as ADDvise gives us credibility when engaging with major clients and partners,” says Andreas.  

The relationship with ADDvise Group has also increased the opportunities for business in the global market. This connection not only enables Tillquist to compete internationally, but also creates opportunities for business both within the company and with its sister companies within the group. 

”Even though our biggest competitor is a global player, our connection to ADDvise Group allows us to punch above our weight,” Andreas notes and continues: “We have also found several interesting opportunities for joint ventures within ADDvise Group.” 

The power of corporate synergy 

The relationship with ADDvise also allows Andreas and Tillquist to be part of a larger collaborative environment. Executives from all ADDvise Group companies frequently meet to exchange ideas and experiences.  

“It’s invaluable to have peers within the group who can act as sounding boards for strategic decisions,” says Andreas and further explains: “Our recurring meetings allow us to compare ourselves to others, and learn from their experiences. It truly drives both innovation and ultimately success within the companies in the group.” 

Strategic outlook: Growth through acquisition and service expansion 

Together with ADDvise Group, Tillquist has set an ambitious plan for growth within the next couple of years. The plan includes both organic growth and acquisitions of companies that can develop Tillquists offerings.  

“We’re exploring opportunities to expand our service offering by acquiring businesses that complement our portfolio. Such acquisitions could help us grow our market share and enhance our overall service capabilities,” Andreas explains. 

Andreas mentions that the enthusiasm and positive encouragement from ADDvise Group drive him and the company forward in a way that would have been difficult to do on their own.  

“The drive from ADDvise to continue growing, both organically and through acquisitions, is incredibly motivating. We’re always encouraged to think about the next step and how we can keep pushing forward,” he says, emphasizing the shared commitment to continuous improvement. 

Together with ADDvise, Andreas sees a bright future for Tillquist – a future that would have been much further away without the support from the group.
